Carmel Mountain Variscite is a rare, recently discovered (summer 2025), high-quality variscite found near Tonopah, Nevada, specifically on the Chipmunk/Broken Arrow claim. Known for its bright mint green color, amazing black spiderwebbing, and high hardness, this material is highly sought after by collectors. It is notably formed as pseudomorphs inside ancient, replaced clam shells.
